Project: Open Badges

In an age of new modes of education and increased access to training and information, Open Badges have been developed as a method of expanding our picture of a student or job applicant to depict a more complete version of a person. Open Badges are a very new system and might be able to tackle this immense challenge, but it could also be said that these badges are a bandaid applied to an already broken system of education.
After workshopping with their overall efficacy remained, we developed three prototypes which explored the possible roles of badges throughout the span of a person's education / career as response. The prototypes invited users to explore: a neutral depiction of the current model of badges, a speculative/negative aspect of badges and a more positive model of the badges.
