Event Design / Art Direction
As part of the Revolution, Health Coach Institute hosts the Health & Wellness Coaching and Practitioner event twice a year. It's called HCI Live. At this event, people get to connect with their amazing tribe, learn advanced tools and techniques to accelerate their coaching mastery and ramp up their income.
[ Role ] I first joined this event as a production designer. There’s basically no branding at that time with only some colors grabbed from the company logo. I viewed this as a great opportunity to add in design magic as it’s such a unique, empowered and intimate event for our customers. I decided to give it some personalities with an Instagrammable visual theme for resonating attendees and driving earned media. And that’s where the “rainbow watercolor” came from.
Watercolor texture with soft rainbow palette (blended with company’s branding colors) represented colorful visions and dreams that our customers strived for. We first ran this idea in 2018 Spring in a small scale, and the feedbacks we got were very positive.
The theme was not implemented perfectly at the very beginning, but from 2018 Spring to 2019 Fall (no events after that due to COVID-19), this motif had been upleveled to be more vivid, powerful and organic.
Since 2018, I had served as Art Director of this project, working cross-functionally with marketing folks, sales people, video editors, speakers, external printers, photographers and A/V vendor to ensure the high-quality and on-brand creative outcomes.
